How to Set Up IPTV Smarters Pro (Xtream Codes or M3U URL)
Add your playlist to IPTV Smarters Pro on Android, iPhone, Fire TV or a computer — Xtream Codes login or M3U URL, loading the TV guide, multi-screen, parental lock and solutions to the classic errors.
What IPTV Smarters Pro is
IPTV Smarters Pro is a multi-platform IPTV player available for Android phones and tablets, Android TV and Fire TV, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, and computers. Like every player, it ships without any channels: you sign in with your own playlist. Its strengths are a clear interface split into Live TV, Movies and Series, a built-in programme guide, multi-screen viewing and a parental lock — on a phone as well as on a TV.
Several unofficial copies with similar names circulate. Install the app only from your device's official store and check the publisher.
Before you start
You need either:
- Xtream Codes credentials — server URL, username, password. With M3utify, create them in the Xtream Panel; the server URL is
https://m3utify.com; - or an M3U playlist URL.
Xtream Codes is the recommended option in Smarters: films and series get their own sections with posters, and the guide loads automatically. See M3U vs Xtream Codes for the details.
Step 1: Install the app
- Android / Android TV: Google Play Store.
- iPhone, iPad, Apple TV: App Store (the iOS app may be listed as "Smarters Player Lite" depending on the region).
- Fire TV: Amazon Appstore, where available in your country.
Step 2: Add a user
On first launch, accept the terms, then choose a login method. Wording varies slightly between versions and platforms.
Option A — Login with Xtream Codes API (recommended)
- Choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
- Fill in:
- Any name — a label for this playlist, e.g. "Home";
- Username and Password — exactly as shown in the Xtream Panel (case-sensitive);
- URL —
https://m3utify.com(no trailing slash or path).
- Tap Add user. The app downloads live channels, films and series, then asks to load the programme guide — accept.
Option B — Load an M3U playlist URL
- Choose Load your playlist or file/URL.
- Enter a name, select M3U URL and paste the playlist address (or pick a file on mobile).
- Tap Add user.
With M3U, everything is loaded as live channels, and the guide only works if the app can find it (see below). For a large playlist, filter it first with the M3utify editor so loading stays fast.
Step 3: Load and refresh the programme guide
- Xtream Codes: the guide (EPG) is fetched from the server. Refresh it from the dashboard's Install EPG / Refresh button, or in Settings → Automation to update it at start-up.
- M3U: the app relies on the guide referenced by your playlist (
x-tvg-urlin the header). If it is missing, the simplest solution is to switch to Xtream Codes.
Channels showing "No program information" have a tvg-id that does not match the guide; our EPG integration guide explains how to fix it. If times are wrong, adjust the EPG time shift in the settings, or read fix an EPG time offset.
Step 4: Useful features
- Multi-screen: watch up to four channels at once on tablets and TVs — useful for sports. It multiplies bandwidth use, and each stream counts as a connection.
- Favourites: long-press or use the star icon; favourites appear in their own category.
- Parental control: Settings → Parental Control — set a PIN and lock categories. Combine it with the profiles and group locks in your M3utify account, described in our parental controls guide.
- External player: in Settings → Player selection, you can open streams in VLC or MX Player if the built-in player has trouble with a format.
Recommended settings
- Settings → Player settings: try Hardware decoder first; switch to Software decoder only if some channels show a black or green screen.
- Settings → Buffer size: increase it if channels pause regularly (see how to fix IPTV buffering).
- Settings → Automation: enable automatic refresh of channels and EPG at start-up so changes made in M3utify appear without doing anything.
Troubleshooting
"Invalid credentials" or "Authorisation failed"
Re-type the username and password (watch for capital letters and spaces). Check that the URL is just https://m3utify.com. If you regenerated your credentials in the Xtream Panel, the old ones no longer work.
Loading never ends on "Downloading live channels"
The list is very large or the connection is slow. Reduce the playlist to the groups you watch, then delete and re-add the user.
A channel says "Playback error"
The stream may be offline. Check it with M3utify's link checker; if it is alive, try another decoder or the external player. HTTP codes such as 401, 403 or 404 are explained in IPTV stream errors.
New channels do not appear
Use Refresh on the dashboard, or log out and back in to force a full reload.
